Course Overview

Misson Statementとの関係性 / Connection to our Mission Statement

It is (part of) the mission of the University to develop qualified leaders who, through a ‘Frontier Spirit’, are equipped to succeed in the globalized business. Understanding economics is essential to success in the world and to confront world leaders. The economics studied here is what is necessary to the business.

Importance of this course

In discussing various issues, global leaders often use the concepts of economics, although they are not themselves economists. The concepts are needed to understand such key issues as affluence and poverty, productivity, unemployment, and trade imbalances. And economics includes useful concepts for business strategy such as price discrimination, pricing, behavioral economics, agency theory, and so on. This course introduces the economics required for leaders, not for economists.
