Course Overview

Misson Statementとの関係性 / Connection to our Mission Statement

In this course, we will be aware of our mission of "educate innovative and ethical leaders who possess a 'frontier spirit' and to create knowledge that advances business and society, and to give students the ability to bridge the gap between New Asia and the rest of the world."

Importance of this course

This course focuses on a program design and a software development. It is for those who are interested in business innovation and corporate planning in an information society. For example, have you ever been experienced dissatisfactory at the handling the ATM? have you ever been experienced uneasy and uncomfortable when you make a shopping with a smart phone? Have you ever been thought it can be convenient for us if there are software which inform of us shopping in a big outlet? Have you never been wondering how a software price should be decided? As mentioned above, from the standpoint of firms, this course provides the process such as “Design → Development → Manufacturing→ Software Product” in a new product development of tangible and intangible goods. Notice that this course focuses on idea creations and prototypes which is originated by field works and discussion, does not focus on a programming by using computer languages.
In this course, I will introduce some cases related to real world business situation. Students will be able to have the opportunity to discuss with the presentation about the case. For more information, I will announce during the lecture. It is compulsory for you to study the contents in advance (preparation of lessons). In addition, we will discuss the basic concept of utilizing Big Data, which is the basis of data science, and efforts to create value in the business field.

In this course, we will conduct class discussions using case studies in order to achieve the learning goals. The students attending this course may be required to write a preparatory report and must participate in the class discussions.

Pre- and Post-Course Learning, Report, Feedback methods
