授業の目的(意義) / Importance of this course

The course explores the interaction between organizational behavior and work in world business. Students should possess multicultural transferable skills that develop an appetite for reflective, adaptive, and collaborative learning. This course is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the issues in organizational management and the institutional and contextual factors and realities surrounding organizational management.

By taking part in this course, students are expected to develop the capacity for:

1) reviewing the theories, patterns, behavior and experiences of organizational behavior among various actors in the global economy
2) developing the capacity to critically reflect on the character of the current organizational behavior and management

Upon completing this course students should be able to get:

Course prerequisites
Participants should allow at least 3 hours of preparation time per case.
A laptop computer is required for electronic distribution of handouts on the day of the class.
Even though this course does not use a textbook, the students will learn theories, notions, and models in the field of international management.

Preparation report
Students should familiarize themselves with the cases and be ready for classroom debates.
Student should submit the preparation report (i.e., (1) critical understanding of the cases (1 page); and (2) expected key takeaways from the cases (1 page)).
Submission method : via Google Classroom.
Submission deadline: Before class begins (7:00am each class day).

Final Report
Final report will be announced ahead of the submission deadline to give you some time to familiarize yourself with the questions that are related to your active learning during the classes.

Preparation before class and active participation in both small group discussion and open class discussion are expected. The preparation report and the final report will be graded by the comprehensiveness and depth of arguments.

  1. Active participation and shared learning is at the core of the case method learning.Participants are asked to limit their use of electronic devices (e.g., laptops, smartphones) during classroom sessions in support of this model. Even with permission granted, devices should only be used in the classroom in service to the case discussion. Online searches and generative AI tools, even if related to the case discussion, are discouraged while class is in session.
  2. Students are prohibited from using the course materials (including cases) distributed by the university for any purpose other than participation in the designated class.Students must not input, process or test course materials with any artificial intelligence (AI) tools, bots, software, or platforms without the author’s permission. These actions violate the terms of use for the course materials and may also constitute copyright infringement.
