授業の概要 Course Overview
Mission Statementとの関係性 / Connection to our Mission Statement
This course aligns with NUCB's mission to educate ethical and innovative leaders with "Frontier Spirits" in leading and managing organizations with innovative and ethical use of information systems in regional and global contexts.
授業の目的(意義) / Importance of this course
Management information systems (MIS) refers to the management and use of information systems that help organizations achieve their strategies. Although we will look at many information technologies (IT) and information systems (IS) used in organizations in this course, this is not a technical course. The course focuses on studying how organizations leverage IT/IS to effectively implement their strategies, support their operations, and grow their businesses in today’s turbulent economy. Students will learn from analyzing case studies of real-world examples about the transformational impacts of IS to companies in various industries and contexts. We will also discuss the ethical aspects of IS.
学修到達目標 / Achievement Goal
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to critically evaluate and propose innovative and ethical IS solutions to grow and sustain business.
