授業の概要 Course Overview
Misson Statementとの関係性 / Connection to our Mission Statement
One of NUCB’s missions is to educate ethical leaders who possess a “Frontier Spirit” and to create knowledge that advances both business and society. This course not only provides students with an opportunity to reflect on current environmental issues but also to develop strategies for actively addressing them.
授業の目的(意義) / Importance of this course
Global environmental challenges have become some of the most urgent and complex issues in recent decades. However, no single country can solve these problems alone. Effective responses require concerted efforts among states, international organizations, and the business sector working together.
With this in mind, the course introduces students to major global environmental issues, with particular emphasis on climate change and energy. It also examines global environmental governance from both domestic and international political perspectives, including the roles of states, international organizations, and corporations.

到達目標 / Achievement Goal
The main goal of this course is to help students deepen their understanding of global environmental issues and to grasp how environmental governance is constructed and functions. Moreover, students will explore climate change and energy issues in the East Asian region—particularly in Japan and China—enhancing their ability to propose and implement effective solutions grounded in these contexts.

1) Course Approach
During each class session, the instructor will introduce relevant theories and key content according to the session’s topic. Based on this material, students are expected to form and communicate their own opinions and feedback, and engage in group discussions on topics designated by the instructor. Small-group presentations (3–4 students per group) will also be required, with each group choosing a presentation topic within the scope of the course.

Each student must submit a preliminary report before every class by uploading it to Google Classroom—a total of six reports from the second to the seventh session. Each preparation report must include a summary of the relevant case and answers to the assignments listed in the casebook, spanning at least one A4-sized page.
3) Feedback
The instructor will provide in-class feedback on assignments unless students specifically request written comments.
