授業の目的(意義) / Importance of this course

本講義では、社会文化心理学的観点から人々の心と共同作業を理解する方法を探索して行きます。文化差や普遍性に関連する概念や理論をもとにして文化による人々の考え方や行動の違いに関する理解を広げていきます。特に、講義の前半では、文化的多様性をもとにして様々な価値観についての研究を発展させてきたホフステード(Geert Hofstede)の理論に基づいて、世界中の異なる国々をグループ化する様々な尺度を模索し、 学生たちがそれを基にして様々な国を比較する練習や、グループ発表をします。重要な概念は各セッションのタイトルを参考にしてください。
受講生はグループディスカッションを通して各概念を理解していきます。特定の概念や理論については、自己測定をしながら実際の社会生活における現状と関係づけて理解していくというアプローチも利用します。
以前に心理学の授業を受けたことがない、初めての人たちも受講可能です。
The course will cover various topics in current cultural psychology, including stages of culture shock, cultural dimensions, and cultural differences and similarities in cognition and self-evaluation.

Students are expected to deepen and widen their views of cultural diversity in contemporary Japan society and over the world upon the completion of this course. They should be also able to explain cultural differences and similarities based on scientific evidence that has been accumulated in cultural psychology.

本講義では、各セッションごとに、特定のトピックについて学生が自主的に議論を介してアイデアを表現し共有していくことが推奨されます。講師は受講生の議論の内容を聞き、フィードバックを提示し、その授業の核となるアイデア、理論を説明します。また、学生は場合によって講義の最後にレビューノートを作成するように要求されます。これは、その日の授業の重要な概念や考え方を自ら復習することができる機会を提供するためです。 特に、講義の後半部では、習った理論やアイデアなどを使ってグループでロールプレイングをしたり、特定の概念や実験などについてグループで調査してプレゼンテーションをするActive Learningのアプローチが行われます。授業全体にわたって、講義に関する学生たちの自由な議論と意見交換を望みます。

担当教員のプロフィール About the Instructor 


Joonha Park received her Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne, Australia, and is an Associate Professor at Department of Management, NUCB. Her research aims to illuminate culture-specific as well as pan-cultural aspects of psychology with a particular focus on East Asia. Her research topics are broad, including cultural change, entrepreneurship, subjective wellbeing, self-construal, attitudes and values related to environmental issues, acculturation and intergroup dehumanization.
