2)意義、背景、内容
•学期の前半では、学生は関連する文献のレビューやケースを通じて知識を習得することに集中します。コースの後半では、方法論、方法、学術的執筆を含む研究デザインに進みます。
クラス内容:
•コースワークは、講義、グループワーク、レポート、およびプレゼンテーションで構成されます。これらはすべて、一般的なスキルと研究スキルを身に付けることが期待されています。

Course Outline
1) Relevance to the NUCB Mission Statement
This course intends to develop students’ research skills in order to create and nurture innovative and global human capital.
2) Significance, background, and content
• In the first half of the semester, students will focus on acquiring relevant knowledge through a review of relevant literature and cases. The second half of the course moves on to research design including methodologies, methods, and academic writing.
Class Content:
• Coursework consists of lectures, group work, reports, and presentations, all of which are expected to develop generic as well as research skills.
Learning Objectives:
• Students will learn about Toyota City’s environmental policies and conduct research on how much the city’s citizens recognize those policies.
• Students will review literature about eco-policies and construct and conduct questionnaires in Toyota City while the instructor supports the analysis and interpretation of the result and write-up.
• This course serves to develop basic knowledge and apply it to real world situations.
• Research skills and experiences acquired in this course can be applied to write bachelors’ theses and/or project proposals in the future.

本コースではアクティブラーニングのアプローチを採用している。したがって授業に参加し発言しない学生は評価しない。慣れていない学生にとっては戸惑うアプローチかもしれないが、より深く学ぶためのアプローチだと思って真摯に取り組んで欲しい。また、特に統計学に関する内容を扱うことが多いため、留意すること。
