Course Overview

Misson Statementとの関係性 / Connection to our Mission Statement

Through Frontier Spirit, students will acquire the knowledge and thinking skills to create innovative and ethical business ideas. Especially, we will discuss "consumer behavior", which is the very foundation of business. It is preferable to have taken Consumer Behavior 1, but it is possible to take it even if you have not.

Importance of this course

This course is aimed not only at understanding theories about consumer behavior, but also at being able to use them to explain the phenomenon around us. Therefore, the goal is not only to "know" the theories, but also to be able to "analyze" the theories and concepts by applying them to specific consumption phenomena, including your own behavior.

Achievement Goal

Students will be able to explain their own or others' behavior using the theoretical framework of consumer behavior theory. In Consumer Behavior Theory 1, we focused on the consumer as an individual. In Consumer Behavior 2, we will consider the consumer as a social entity.
Ex): Why aren't robot vacuum cleaners popular in Japan?
Why do we give chocolates on Valentine's Day?
Why is it difficult for men to go into a pancake shop alone?
You will be able to use theories to explain the above questions.
