授業の目的(意義) / Importance of this course

Opportunities to explore authentic language with contents related to global issues is the main theme of
this seminar. Students can open and think deeply with the issues around the world with the aid of current events, documentary films, interviews, etc, giving students a wide range of topics to think about and expand their knowledge by researching some of the issues in depth on their own. Sharing their opinions with their classmates on various issues presented during the course.

The main focus of this seminar is to show students variety of English
they need to confront in the real world. They will be able to explore
and experience authentic English materials via different media. By
exposing students to this real language, they may discover a new
way of learning a foreign language and also deepen their understanding
of different culture as well as their way of expressing their thoughts.
From their own experience with the materials presented in the seminar,
hopefully they can come up with their own topic that they can continue
and research towards their graduation essay.
