This course, 'English Communication 1,' is in alignment with NUCB's mission to nurture innovative and ethical leaders with a strong 'Frontier Spirit.' It aims to enhance students' communication skills within a business context, integrating TOEIC-related vocabulary into each lesson. Through 'English Communication 1,' students develop the ability to convey and describe content logically and clearly in English, a vital skill in the global business environment. Moreover, the course cultivates the logical thinking skills necessary for problem-solving and critical analysis, contributing to the development of innovative leaders. By incorporating discussions on ethical and social decision-making, this course reinforces the university's mission to produce graduates with a solid ethical foundation.
This course "English Communication 1" aims to enhance students' English communication skills, with a particular emphasis on listening and speaking in a business context. Through diverse oral activities, students can practice and refine their language abilities effectively. A key aspect of the course is the acquisition of TOEIC-related vocabulary, crucial for effective communication in the international business arena. By immersing students in this vocabulary, the course aims to instill natural and confident usage. Vocabulary tests at the end of each lesson reinforce students' understanding of the acquired words, solidifying their linguistic proficiency. The course adopts a proactive approach to develop problem-solving skills and empathy. Utilizing the case method, students step into the shoes of different individuals in various business scenarios, cultivating empathy and a holistic understanding of real-world challenges.
Students will be expected to enhance their English proficiency, with a particular focus on improving listening and speaking skills, while also expanding their business-related vocabulary.
