本講義では、「政治学」 (Politics) とは「誰が何を、いつ、どのように得るのか」 (Who gets, what, when and how?)を考える学問であるとの理解に基づき、比較の視座を導入しながら政治学に関する基礎知識を学修します。比較政治学に関する基礎知識を学修することは、本学のMission Statementに掲げられた世界的な視野を持った上で国際的に活躍していくために有用です。
This course will provide foundational knowledge in political science by introducing a comparative perspective, based on the understanding that “Politics” is the discipline that examines “Who gets, what, when, and how?” Learning the basic knowledge of comparative politics will ultimately help students succeeding in international society with global perspectives as stated in the NUCB Mission Statement.

授業の目的（意義） / Importance of this course

本講義では、政治学に関する事例について比較的に検証する分析を通じ、様々な視点から物事を考える力や自分の意見を構築する力を養うことを目的とします。特に、時事的なトピックを取り上げ、議論します。「教科書」に出てくるような比較政治学の理論や知識を試験のために覚えることが目的ではない点には留意してください。
The aim of this course is to provide students with opportunities to improve an ability to analyze an event from different perspectives as well as an ability to construct and present own arguments by using selected cases comparatively. In particular, students will address current affairs and engage in discussion. Note that the purpose of this course is NOT to learn basic terms and theories taught in a "textbook" and remember them for exams.

本講義では、学生が政治学に関する基礎知識を身につけ、さまざまな角度から現代的な諸課題を理解し、 ⽇常⽣活で政治との関わりについて理解できるようになることを目標とします。

The goal of this course is to provide foundational knowledge of politics with students and to develop their abilities to understand contemporary issues from various points of views, which helps students to recognize how politics relates to daily lives.

＜準備学習＞
◆毎回の講義に関しては、予習が重要です。事前アサインメントを中心に、最低2時間は予習を行ってください。また、疑問点があったら是非、質問してください。オフィスアワーを利用しても構いませんし、次の授業の前後でも大丈夫です。また、メールでアポイントメントをとってもらえれば適宜対応します。

＜課題＞
◆毎回「予習レポート」を提出課題とします。詳細は初回講義で指示する。
（A4一枚程度を目安としますが、特に規定は設けません。毎回5点満点で採点します。ただし、内容重視のため、多く書けば点数が高いとは限りません。）

  1. ケースメソッド教育の中核は、積極的な参加と知識の共有です。この教育を支えるため参加者は授業中の電子機器（例：スマートフォン、ノートパソコン）の使用を制限するよう求められます。許可を得た場合でも、教室内では電子機器は、ケース討議に資する目的でのみ使用してください。授業中は、たとえケース討議に関連していても、検索エンジンや生成AIの使用は避けて下さい。
  2. 配布教材（ケースを含む）は指定された授業への参加以外の目的で利用しないで下さい。著者の権利、著作権、特定情報の機密性を保護するため、許可なく教材を個人や組織（生成AI を含む）に提供することはできません。このルールは、印刷物・電子教材のいずれにも適用されます。
  1. Active participation and shared learning is at the core of the case method learning.Participants are asked to limit their use of electronic devices (e.g., laptops, smartphones) during classroom sessions in support of this model. Even with permission granted, devices should only be used in the classroom in service to the case discussion. Online searches and generative AI tools, even if related to the case discussion, are discouraged while class is in session.
  2. Students are prohibited from using the course materials (including cases) distributed by the university for any purpose other than participation in the designated class.Students must not input, process or test course materials with any artificial intelligence (AI) tools, bots, software, or platforms without the author’s permission.
