授業の目的(意義) / Importance of this course
This course takes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of North American and British graphic literature. Students will critically read, understand, and respond to a variety of single panel comics, strips, serials, and selections from full graphic narratives. Central themes explored include nature, culture, diversity, ethics, and the search for identity. The interplay of visual imagery and text to communicate plot and theme will be a central focus of class discussion and student presentations.
