本科目では、南アジア社会について学ぶことを通じ、国際的に活躍できるグローバル人材の育成を図るという点
で本学のMission Statementと関係している。

This course is related to the University's Mission Statement in that it aims to develop global human resources who can play an active role internationally through learning about South Asian societies.

本科目では、南アジアの諸問題について学ぶことを通じ、多様な人、暮らし、考え方が世界にあることを理解する。それにより、アジアと世界をつなぐリーダーとなる力を育む。
本科目では、グローバル化や経済発展に伴う南アジアの社会変動について、政治、経済、教育、文化などの観点から総合的に学ぶ。授業では写真や映像を活用しながら南アジア地域を理解することを通して、グローバル化や経済発展、デモクラシーといった事象についても多角的な視点から捉えられるようになることを目指す。
本科目を学ぶことによって、学生は南アジア社会に関する基礎知識を説明できるようになる。またそれらの知識をもとに南アジア社会に関する諸問題に対して積極的に意見を述べることができるようになる。

In this class, students will learn about various issues in South Asia and understand that there are diverse people, lifestyles, and ways of thinking in the world. Through this course, students will develop the ability to become leaders who connect Asia and the world.
South Asia has been changing drastically through globalization and economic development. This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of these social changes in South Asia from the perspective of politics, economy, education, culture, and so on. Students aim to acquire various perspectives on globalization, economic development, democracy by discussing issues in South Asia.
Students will explain South Asia's basic knowledge and use it to express their opinions on issues in South Asia.

本科目では、南アジア社会に関する学びを通して、主に多様性への気づきや異なる立場の人びとと関わる力の向上を目指す（LG2・LG7）。また、講義内で示した事例の分析を通してクリティカルシンキング能力（LG1）、グループ討議を通して倫理的な意思決定（LG3)やコミュニケーション能力（LG4）を培う。

This course helps students to improve diversity awareness mainly (LG2 & LG7). Students have opportunities to develop critical thinking skills (LG1) through case methods. Also, students will be able to enhance ethical decision-making skills (LG3) and communication skills (LG4) through group discussions by the end of the course.

自分とは異なる文化的背景を持つ人々と共生していくための基礎的な知識を得る。また、多文化の人々が共生する社会を構築するためにどうすればいいか思考し、自分なりの意見を述べることができるようになる。

Students will gain basic knowledge of how to live in harmony with people from different cultural backgrounds from their own. They will also be able to think about how to build a society in which multicultural people can live together and express their own opinions.

事前学習として、課題文献を読んで自主的に考察を行うこと（60分程度）。課題は授業開始の5日前までにGoogle Classroom上に提示するので、履修者はGoogle Classroomの通知設定をしておくこと。
毎授業の終わりに小テストを実施するので、授業後は授業内容を復習し、自分の興味関心に応じて自主的に学習を深めること（90分程度）。
最終日には試験を実施する。
※予習及び復習については中央情報センター（図書館）を活用すること。
