To become a business leader with a "frontier spirit," which is the educational philosophy of Nagoya University of Commerce and Business, it is necessary to understand real social issues and acquire a deep education. The knowledge you acquire will help you to understand newspapers and news. 授業の目的（意義） / Importance of this course
過去の歴史を学んでも、「現在とは時代が違うので役に立たない！」と 言われる事が良くあります。
しかし、昨年の世界金融恐慌以降、行 き過ぎたマネーゲーム、市場原理主義が批判に晒されています。
そして、過去から学ぶべきであるという風潮が高まっているのは事実です。
そもそも市場経済とはなんでしょうか？本講義では、重商主義・重農主義、アダム・スミス以来の
経済学の歴史を振り返り、各経済学者の理論と思想の形成過程を考察することを通じて、
市場経済の本質を理解することを目的とします。また、就職活動で、意見を主張する能力を養います。

市場経済の本質を理解することを目的とします。また、就職活動で、意見を主張する能力を養います。
Even if we learn history, somebody else often says that the knowledge is not useful. But after the Lehman crash, excessive money game and market principle are exposed to criticism. Therefore the social trend, which we should learn from the mistakes of the past, is rising. Originally, what is a market economy? You learn the history of economic thought from Adam Smith in this lecture. Through considering the formative process of an economist's theory and thought, you will understand the essence of the market economy.

担当教員のプロフィール About the Instructor
北海道大学大学院経済学研究科博士課程修了。博士（経済学）北海道大学専門研究員、名古屋商科大学経済学部講師、准教授を経て、2015年より現職。専門は理論経済学、経済学説史。現在の研究内容は、「企業属性や取引慣行、組織能力が価格設定行動に与える影響」、「価値論転換の歴史」、「中間財を含んだ国際貿易」の研究を行う。主な著書に『多様化する社会と多元化する知』（ナカニシヤ出版、共著）などがある。
Dr. Satoshi Yoshii is a Professor in the Faculty of Economics at Nagoya University of Commerce and Business, where he has taught since 2009. He received a Ph.D. in Economics from Hokkaido University (Hokkaido, Japan) in 2008, and B.A. in Economics from Hokkaido University (Hokkaido, Japan) in 2001.
He has been working on Price-setting behavior in empirical analysis and on a transformation of value theory in a history of economic thought and on new construction of the Ricardian theory of international Values in pure theory.
