授業の目的（意義） / Importance of this course
本講義は日本の思想を、単に歴史的ではない興味によって概観する。この講義が単に歴史的でないのは、それが日本の伝統的思考を学ぶことで、現代のわれわれについてもう一度考え直すことを目指しているからである。この国の先人たちはどのようなことを考え、どのような倫理観を構築してきたのか。それを学ぶこと は、われわれがわれわれ自身について考えることにほかならない。そのため、講義は東洋思想史の概説をするとともに、各時代の重要な思想家・哲学者をとりあげ、受講者自身に彼らの残した書物を読んでもらうことになる。
The aim of this lecture is to overlook the history of Japanese philosophy, however, not just from historical interest. It is not just from historical interest, because we have to rethink about ourselves by studying the traditional thought of Japan. What philosophy, and what ethics did our predecessor conceived: these question are nothing but question about ourselves. Because of this aim, the lecture will not only give the outline of Japanese philosophy, but also focus on several thinkers, whose texts students must read.
