The curriculum of this course is rooted in our university's Mission Statement and aims to equip students with a global perspective and practical problem-solving skills. In classes, we focus on contemporary global issues such as environmental concerns, economic development, and human rights, promoting deep understanding and critical thinking about these topics. Furthermore, by enhancing intercultural communication skills and fostering an attitude of respect for diversity, we aim to cultivate leaders who can excel on the international stage.

この授業は、グローバルな視野を養い、異文化理解を深めることで、学生たちを国際社会で活躍するための人材に育成することに大きな重要性を持っている。国際関係、多文化共生、環境問題など、現代社会が直面する多様な課題への理解を深めることにより、学生たちは世界各地での実践的な活動において必要とされる知識とスキルを習得する。また、この授業は異なる文化や価値観を尊重し、国際的な協力と共生を促進する能力を育むための基盤となるため、今日の国際化が進む社会において学生にとって不可欠なものである。
This class holds great importance in cultivating students to be active contributors in the international community by fostering a global perspective and deepening their understanding of different cultures. By enhancing their understanding of a variety of contemporary issues such as international relations, multicultural coexistence, and environmental challenges, students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for practical activities around the world. Additionally, this class serves as a foundation for developing the ability to respect different cultures and values, and to promote international cooperation and coexistence, making it an essential component for students in today's increasingly globalized society.

Through this course, students can gain a deep understanding of international issues and develop skills in intercultural communication. They will be able to play an important role in collaboration with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and cultivate the critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary for activities in the international community. Additionally, students will acquire the fundamental knowledge needed to participate in international volunteer activities and cooperation projects around the world, as well as develop the applied skills required in actual practice.

各ケースについて、最低3時間の事前学習を実施し、それに基づいたケースレポートを授業前に提出すること。提出されたレポートには評価とコメントを加えた後、次週の授業時に返却する。必要に応じて、個別の説明も行う。

トピック：ケースメソッドとは何か内容：「ケースメソッドによる学習」というケースを使用し、ケースメソッドとはどのようなものであるのかという議論を通じて、ケースメソッドに対する理解を深める。ケースメソッドは、マネージメント能力を身につけるための最適かつ実践的な方法である。しかし十分な知識を持たずに使うと混乱することがある。ここではそのような混乱を防ぐために、まずケースメソッドがどのように機能するのかを説明し、ケースメソッドで最大限の効果をあげるにはどうすれば良いのかについて議論する。

「ケースメソッドによる学習」（HBS）第2日（Day2）
トピック：国際ボランティアに向けての準備内容：国際協力や国際開発について考えるには、基本的な経済の概念を理解する必要がある。「はじめての国際ボランティア：準備編」のケースでは、国際ボランティアの活動の準備という文脈の中で、基本的な経済概念の習得を目指す。

「はじめての国際ボランティア：準備編」（オリジナル）第3日（Day3）
トピック：国際ボランティアの実践内容：国際ボランティアに従事する際、プロジェクトの活動において直面する問題を、自分自身が主導して解決することがしばしば求められる。このような課題に対応するためには、実践的なアプローチが不可欠であり、実践編では、国際ボランティアの参加者として、実際の事例に対して積極的に取り組むことが重要になる。

「パヤタスに降る星」（オリジナル）第4日（Day4）
トピック：国際ボランティアの活動と二面性（パート１）孤児院ボランティアツアーは、孤児との交流を通じて相互理解を深めることを目的としている。しかし、ボランティアツアーが商業化されることにより、ボランティアの本質が損なわれる恐れがある。本ケースを通して、このようなプログラムの多面的な影響を検討することにより、国際ボランティア活動の倫理的側面を理解することができる。

カンボジア・ボランティア・ツアー第5日（Day5）
トピック：Financial Independence, Retire Early内容：国際ボランティア活動は、多くの場合無報酬で行われ、たとえ何らかの報酬があったとしても、それは生活を支えるには通常限られた額である。そのため、一部の人々は投資を通じて不労収入を生み出し、経済的な自由を確保して国際ボランティアに専念しようと考えている。この授業では、投資を利用して不労収入を得る方法と、そのような収入を通じて経済的に自立する方法についての議論を深める。

「FIREして国際ボランティア」（オリジナル）第6日（Day6）
トピック：国際ボランティアの活動と二面性内容：青年海外協力隊は清廉潔白な日本の若者が途上国の厳しい環境の中で身を粉にして働く、というイメージがある。しかし、実際に協力隊を経験したOB/OGの中にも、協力隊について批判的な目を向けるものもいる。果たしてどちらが「真実」なのか？本授業では、これらのイメージや意見を対比し、クリティカル・メディアリテラシーの育成を図る。

「青年海外協力隊の闇」（オリジナル）第7日（Day7）
トピック：本当の多様性とは何か内容：この授業「本当の多様性とは何か - 理解と尊重の探求」では、性別、障害、文化的背景など様々な側面から多様性を探求し、学生たちがこれらの違いに思いやりと理解を持って接する能力を養うことを目的としている。授業内容には、多様性の基礎、性別とアイデンティティ、障害と包摂、異なる意見や文化への理解、対話のスキル、そして学生の不快感に対する教員の対処法などが含まれる。ケースを通じて学生たちは多様性に対する深い理解を築き、異なる文化や背景を持つ人々との対話において敏感で思慮深いアプローチを身につけることを目指している。

授業調査に対するコメント Comment on Course Evaluation
このコースでは、アクティブラーニングを中心とした教育アプローチを採用している。そのため、従来の講義中心の授業形式に比べて学生自らが積極的に学習に取り組むことが重要である。また、アクティブラーニングは単なるグループ作業ではなく、学生同士の議論や教員との対話を通じて深められる学びが重視される。この点についても理解し、授業に臨むことが望まれる。
