今日、過去の世界で起きている出来事は私たちの生活、仕事、ビジネスなどすべてにおいて影響を与えています。このクラスでは、様々な国際政治に関するトピックに触れ、皆さんがグローバルに活躍する際に必要となる柔軟な考え方や自身の意見構築に役立てられればと思います。
What's happening and what has happened in the world affect the way we live today. This course provides students with an opportunity to learn, think, and debate about various topics relating to International Politics which could be useful for the post-graduation careers.
授業の目的（意義） / Importance of this course
このクラスでは、「教科書」に出てくるような国際政治の理論や知識を「知る」「覚える」ことが目的ではありません。むしろ、国際政治に関するトピックやケース（特に２１世紀のアメリカの外交や戦争と平和に関する題材）を通して、将来のどんなキャリアにも役立つような、様々な視点から物事を考える力、および自分の意見を構築する力を養うことを目的としています。
The purpose of this course is NOT to learn basic terms and concepts taught in a "textbook" and remember them for exams. Rather, the goal here is to provide students with opportunities to obtain or improve an ability to analyze an event from different perspectives as well as an ability to construct and present own arguments, by using selected topics relating to International Politics (especially American foreign policies and involvement in conflicts in the 2000's).

特定の教科書などはありません。「ケース」がメインの読み物です。ケースに関する質問（アサイメント）が予習レポート課題となります。必要であれば、参考文献や役立つ情報はケースやアサイメント内に記載します。
授業内ではケースをテーマにしたクラス討論の前後に簡単な講義や映像を見る時間を設け、ケースに関する理解を深めていきます。このクラスでは授業貢献度が評価の7０％を占めています。ケース前の「講義」途中に質問したりディスカッション内などでの発言も評価対象ですので、それぞれ得意な形で授業に積極的に参加してください。参加率の向上の仕方などの相談は授業後またはメールで受け付けます。

授業調査に対するコメント Comment on Course Evaluation
発言を求められる機会が多いですが、国際政治の世界では「正解」の答えはありません。国の文化が違うようにみんな意見が違っていいのです。映像なども交えてあまり馴染みのない国際政治のトピックでも理解し、意見を構築できるように工夫していますので気軽に授業に参加してみてください。
