本授業は、国境を越えて展開する社会現象を多角的に理解し、グローバル時代の国際社会における諸課題を理論的かつ実践的に考察することを通じて、グローバル社会において主体的に判断・行動する能力を培うことを目指す。
グローバル化の進展に伴い、社会的不平等や文化的摩擦、経済格差などの問題は複雑化しており、特にアジアと世界の関係性も大きく変容している。本講義では、こうした変化を単なる知識として理解するにとどまらず、様々な側面を持つ「国際社会」を捉えるための視点・方法を学び、倫理的課題や持続可能性を批判的に検討することを通じて創造的かつ倫理的な思考力を涵養する。以上の意味で、新時代のグローバルリーダーを育成するという本学のMission Statementに関与する。

This course aims to cultivate students’ capacity for independent judgment and action in the global society by fostering a multifaceted understanding of social phenomena that unfold across national borders and by encouraging both theoretical and practical examination of key issues in the international society of the global age.
With the advancement of globalization, challenges such as social inequality, cultural friction, and economic disparity have become increasingly complex, and the relationship between Asia and the wider world has undergone significant transformation. This course therefore moves beyond the mere acquisition of knowledge by equipping students with analytical perspectives and methodological tools for understanding the multifaceted nature of “international society.” Through critical engagement with ethical issues and questions of sustainability, the course cultivates creative and ethically grounded modes of thinking. In this respect, the course contributes to the University’s Mission Statement of developing global leaders for a new era.

本授業の目的は、具体的な事例の検討を通じて、国際社会における諸問題を自ら分析し、根拠に基づいて議論できる力を養うことである。学生は、移民・難民などのカテゴリーの境界の流動性、日常生活に浸透するグローバル化の構造、国境を越える社会的ネットワークの複雑性、ローカルとグローバルが相互に規定し合う問題構造、一国内部にも存在する不平等の重層性、といった観点から学修を進める。ケースメソッドによる討論と分析を重ねることで、学生は多面的に事象を捉え、異なる立場を踏まえて論理的に意思決定を行う能力を身につける。

The goal of this course is to cultivate students’ ability to analyze issues in international society independently and to engage in evidence-based discussion through the examination of concrete case studies. Students will advance their learning from multiple analytical perspectives, including the fluidity of categorical boundaries such as those between migrants and refugees; the structures of globalization embedded in everyday life; the complexity of transnational social networks; the mutually constitutive relationship between the local and the global; and the multilayered nature of inequality within individual states.
Through repeated case-method discussions and analytical exercises, students will develop the capacity to approach issues from multiple angles and to make logical decisions while taking into account diverse perspectives.

本授業は、学生がグローバル化の進展の下で生じる国際社会の諸問題について、具体的事例に基づいて多面的に理解し、基礎的な分析と考察を行うことができるようになることを目標とする。
本授業を通じて学生は、移民・難民・貧困・環境・紛争等に関するケースの検討を通じて、ローカル・ナショナル・グローバルの各水準の相互関係を自らの言葉で説明できるようになるとともに、異なる立場や利害を踏まえて自らの見解を論理的に表現できるようになる。さらに、国際社会の複雑な課題に対して主体的に問いを立て、討論に参加できる初歩的能力を身につける。

This course aims to enable students to develop a multifaceted understanding of key issues in international society arising under the conditions of advancing globalization and to conduct foundational analysis and critical examination based on concrete case studies.
Through this course, students will examine cases concerning migration, refugees, poverty, the environment, and conflict, and will thereby become able to explain, in their own words, the interrelationships among the local, national, and global levels. They will also develop the ability to articulate their own perspectives logically while taking into account differing positions and interests. Furthermore, students will acquire the foundational capacity to formulate questions independently and to participate actively in discussions addressing the complex challenges of international society.

● 予習・復習について
授業前には、教科書の関連部分や参考文献、また必要に応じて配布する資料を読み、事前課題（予習レポート）に取り組む。事前課題は、授業前日までにGoogle Classroom経由で提出すること。
授業後は、レジュメをもとに講義内容を復習し、文献、新聞、雑誌、インターネット等のメディアを通じて、自分の興味関心に応じてさらなる理解・考察を深めること。
事前および事後学習の時間は、各100分を目安とします。
