中国は台頭著しい経済大国であり、日本の最大な貿易対象国でもある。本コースでは中国の社会と文化について学ぶことを通じて、中国をはじめアジアで活躍するビジネスリーダーになるために必要不可欠な基礎的な教養を身につける。
China is a rapidly rising economic power and Japan's largest trading partner. This course helps participants develop fundamental knowledge about Chinese society and culture, which is indispensable for becoming a business leader connecting Japan with Asia.
授業の目的（意義） / Importance of this course
中国社会は現在急速に多元化が進んでいます。ほんの数年前の事象がもはや時代遅れになったりすることは急激な経済成長が続く中国ならではのことかも知れません。こうした大きな変貌を遂げつつある中国社会の基本的な姿を紹介し、中国社会を観察する際の基本的な視点を確立することが本講義の主な内容であり、目的でもあります。
Chinese society has been in transition toward rapid diversification as a result of the reform policy and economic development. The transformation is so dramatic that some knowledge was suitable a few years back but not applicable at present. This course deals with the contemporary Chinese society from the viewpoint of the deeply intertwined changes in politics, economics, and culture.
学修到達目標 / Achievement Goal
受講者は半年間の勉強を通じて、時には難解で、時には理解不能に思われる中国社会の各事象について、それぞれの答えをもつようになるでしょう。また中国社会に対する理解を深めることによって、この巨大な隣国とどのように付き合って行くべきかという問題についても思考を深めて行きます。
In this course, participants learn comprehensively about Chinese society which sometimes seems obscure and incomprehensible to young Japanese students. Participants are also expected to think in-depth about how Japan should face a rising China.

第1日（Day1）
①イントロダクション②人口問題：一人っ子政策を中心に中国の人口問題、人口政策について議論します。

米中経済覇権争い（NHKドキュメンタリー）第2日（Day2）
①教育問題：初等・中等そして高等教育の過去と現在について学びます。②婚姻事情：中国におけるお見合い、若者の結婚観、ブライダル産業の現状などについて学びます。
●使用するケース
ある中学生の一日(兪)第3日（Day3）
①戸籍制度：中国社会における都市、農村二元構造の形成過程および現状を紹介します。②中国の都市：中国は都市にもランクがあり、それぞれ異なる権限が与えられています。中国の主要な都市を取り上げ、経済力、日本との関係などについて解説します。

「北漂」「アリ族」「ネズミ族」（兪）第4日（Day4）
中国の経済発展と貧富の格差：高度経済成長の陰にある深刻な貧富の格差について、農民工に焦点をしぼって紹介します。●使用するケース

中国の少数民族：中国における少数民族の生活、文化、少数民族政策について学びます。また近年高まっている少数民族と漢民族間の対立の背景について解説します。●使用するケース
中国の秘密の収容所（BBCの報道をベースに兪が作成）第7日（Day7）
IT産業の発展と社会統制：近年発展の著しい中国のIT産業、その影で進んでいる情報統制、社会信用スコアシステムなど、IT技術の進展に伴って激しく変化する中国社会の現状について解説します。●使用するケース
