This course will help students to achieve frontier spirits by enlightening awareness of cultural diversity that exists in everyday human behavior.

授業の目的(意義) / Importance of this course

本講義では、カルチャーショックの段階、文化的側面、文化の違いや認知と自己評価の類似性など、現在の文化心理学のさまざまなトピックを取り上げることを目標とする。
The course will cover various topics in current cultural psychology, including stages of culture shock, cultural dimensions, and cultural differences and similarities in cognition and self-evaluation.

本講義では、各セッションごとに、特定のトピックについて学生が自主的に議論を介してアイデアを表現し共有していくことが推奨されます。講師は受講生の議論の内容を聞き、フィードバックを提示し、その授業の核となるアイデア、理論を説明します。また、学生は場合によって講義の最後にレビューノートを作成するように要求されます。これは、その日の授業の重要な概念や考え方を自ら復習することができる機会を提供するためです。 特に、講義の後半部では、習った理論やアイデアなどを使ってグループでロールプレイングをしたり、特定の概念や実験などについてグループで調査してプレゼンテーションをするActive Learningのアプローチが行われます。授業全体にわたって、講義に関する学生たちの自由な議論と意見交換を望みます。基本的な社会科学的知識、心理学に興味や知識を持ってる参加者が望ましいです。

担当教員のプロフィール About the Instructor 


Joonha Park received her Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne, Australia, and is an Associate Professor at Department of Management, NUCB. Her research aims to illuminate culture-specific as well as pan-cultural aspects of psychology with a particular focus on East Asia. Her research topics are broad, including cultural change, entrepreneurship, subjective wellbeing, self-construal, attitudes and values related to environmental issues, acculturation and intergroup dehumanization.
