授業の概要 Course Overview

情報化やグローバル化が進展する社会において、さまざまな変化に向き合い、他者と協働して課題を解決していく力やさまざまな情報を見極め、知識の概念的な理解を実現し、情報を再構築する力などを涵養し、高等学校において学習指導要領で求められている「英語で授業」を行うことができる英語教員の養成を企図する。
The registered students will be empowered to face up with various changes, solve diverse problems and issues in collaboration with others, form a clear view of information of all kinds, understand knowledge conceptually, and restructure information in a developing society of a computer network and globalization. This subject aims to foster English teachers who can conduct English classes in English, which is demanded in the new Course of Study for Senior High Schools.

授業の目的(意義) / Importance of this course

本講義は、高等学校の英語科教員免許状を取得するための基幹かつ必修科目であり、教育実習を行う上での前提科目である。本科目を通して、高等学校における英語教育の目的を理解し、英語教授法の基礎を学ぶ。また、受講生自身がこれまで受けてきた英語教育を振り返り、その課題および改善方法についての討議を行う。さらに、言語活動を中心とした学習指導案の作成により、効果的な英語の授業を展開する基礎力を養う。
This subject is one of required subjects to acquire English teacher's license for senior high schools and a prerequisite subject for practice teaching at a senior high school. Through this course, the registered students can understand the objective of English Language Education and learn the basics of English teaching methods. In addition, the registered students will reflect on English lessons they took in junior high schools and senior high schools, and discuss a bunch of their problems and corrective strategies. Furthermore, the registered students will master the fundamentals of conducting effective English lessons by drawing up teaching plans concentrating on language activities.

・The registered students will be able to understand and explain the objectives of English Language Education for elementary schools, junior high schools, and senior high schools.
・The registered students will be able to deeply understand and explain the content of the new Course of Study for elementary schools, junior high schools, and senior high schools.
・The registered students will be able to understand the history of the English teaching methodology in Japan and deeply think how its asset will be applied to English Language Education in Japan.
・The registered students will be able to understand the theory of Second Language Acquisition and its use, and apply it to English classes.
・The registered students will be able to understand setting up the learning goals of different skill areas, planning the annual lessons and units, and drawing up teaching plans.
・The registered students will be able to develop teaching plans and put them into use in classes.
・The registered students will be able to understand how to teach listening, speaking (spoken interaction and spoken production), reading, and writing, and put them into use in classes.

 高等学校の英語教育は、小学校・中学校の英語教育の上に成り立っているので、小学校・中学校・高等学校の学習指導要領を読み理解しておくことが必須である。
 英語教育について十分に学習し理解するために、教科書をすべて読むことは言うまでもなく、参考文献等を読み、日頃から新聞やテレビのニュース等で報じられている教育事象や教育問題に強く関心を持つ必要がある。
 毎時間教科書に書かれている内容についてレポートしてもらうため、レポートの提出と発表の準備をしっかりしておいてください。
 また、文部科学省の外国語教育のサイト(https://www.mext.go.jp/a_menu/kokusai/gaikokugo/index.htm)にアクセスし、外国語教育に関するさまざまな情報を取得することはきわめて重要であり、予習・復習時に実践してください。
 さらに、中央情報センター(図書館)へ毎日行き、教科書以外の教育学・言語学等の書籍を読み、積極的な利用を推奨します。

各回に一人、作成した予習レポートに基づき、その内容をクラス内で発表する。その後、その内容等についてのディスカッションとpeer assessmentを行う。特別の理由がない限り、遅刻・欠席をしないようにする。
