The present seminar aims to cultivate the qualities upheld in the university's Mission Statement. The seminar will focus on educating responsible, adaptable and considerate global citizens, with a solid knowledge of English language and business culture, who will bridge the gap between New Asia and the rest of the world.

授業の目的(意義) / Importance of this course

The aims of the present seminar are:
1. To improve research skills
2. To nurture critical thinking skills
2. To improve TOEIC score and knowledge of English used in a variety of business situations
3. To provide moral support for job search

By the end of this seminar, the students should demonstrate the following research and communication skills related to graduation essay topic:
1. Ability to identify useful and reliable information from a variety of sources;
2. Ability to synthesize the essential points from the literature and write a coherent literature review
3. Ability to use a research instrument effectively
4. Ability to analyze and discuss the findings of their primary research and explain the implications of their findings.

担当教員のプロフィール About the Instructor 


Prof. Nae holds an MA in translation and a PhD with a dissertation in linguistics from Nagoya University. She has been teaching English to students of all ages and levels for over two decades. Besides an extensive teaching experience, Prof. Nae has been actively involved in research and translation/interpretation work. Her research interests are translation studies, internationalization in higher education, gender studies, and active learning in Japanese clasrooms.
