SEMINAR 3 is the third course of the sequence (SEMINAR 1-6). Through the courses, students will develop the necessary research skills to conduct a project leading to the production of a 4,000 word thesis in English. By doing research on their interests, students will also develop their ‘Frontier Spirit’, which is highlighted in our Mission Statement, to enter unexplored areas and propose the future directions.

授業の目的(意義) / Importance of this course

The aim of SEMINAR 3 is to support students’ literature review writing and guide them to find the right methodology for their research questions.

By the end of SEMINAR 3, students will produce a 1,500-word literature review section, plan a research design to determine their methodology and/or collect a small set of data.

・This course will be taught using lectures and pair/group work. Please complete reading and writing assignments prior to each seminar. Students will be expected to spend 1-2 hours per week doing assignments and working on their thesis projects.
・Oral and written feedback will be provided for each assignment in class or through Google Classroom.
・Students are encouraged to use the Central Information Center (Library).
