授業の概要 Course Overview

This course intends to develop the ability to understand cultural diversity and to think critically. This ability is essential for the global leaders that the NUCB mission envisions.

Common theme of the seminar: Cultures and Societies in the World

授業の目的(意義) / Importance of this course

Goals of the seminar:
1. To write a graduation thesis
Students can choose any topic based on their own interest. But It should have a global perspective.
2. To acquire the ability to conduct effective communication and to think matters critically.
Students are encouraged to actively participate in class discussions and to develop leadership.
3. To think of future career and prepare for it.
Students are encouraged to start to think their own future career as early as possible. In the third-year class students learn how to write entry sheets and prepare for interviews and group discussions.

Students will be able to understand diversity in a globalizing society and to acquire the skills of effective communication and critical thinking through class discussions and thesis writing.

事前学修と事後学修の内容、レポート、課題に対するフィードバック方法 Pre- and Post-Course Learning, Report, Feedback methods

⚫ 準備学習: 事前学習においては、参考文献など関連の本をしっかり読む。事後学習においては、授業中に配布されたプリントなどで復習し、場合によっては授業内容を扱ったインターネット情報やテレビ番組なども積極的に探して観てほしい。わからないことは授業中やメールで質問してほしい。事前および事後学習は各100分とする。
⚫ 課題に対するフィードバック: 論文は丁寧にコメントを付して返却する。
⚫ 中央情報センターの活用: セミナー論文作成のために、情報センターの文献のみならず、新聞、雑誌、データベースを積極的に活用してほしい。
