授業の概要 Course Overview

It is indispensable for business leaders to have wider scopes in social issues, and to think logically in analyzing present and future problems. It is also important to appreciate diversity in cultures and values. This course fosters students' understanding of global issues, as well as enhances their critical thinking and communication skills.

授業の目的(意義) / Importance of this course

The objective of the seminar is to make students comprehend various social issues with global perspectives. Students are expected to acquire: the logical thinking skills to solve diverse problems; the understanding of the importance of diversity: the understanding of the importance of ethical and social decision making; and the ability to convey and describe contents logically and clearly. In addition, students shall develop the ability to understand, consider and act on the issues facing the international community from a broad perspective.

到達目標 / Achievement Goal


Students shall develop receptive mind towards diversity, to foster critical thinking and ethical attitudes, and to acquire communication skills with people of different cultural backgrounds.

In Seminar 3, students start research projects for their graduation theses. They are expected to undertake literature survey and to make outlines. They must read academic papers and develop logical thinking.

セミナー3では卒論の研究のアウトラインを作成しますから、読む文献の量も多くなり、毎週200分〜300分の自主学習が必要となります。 

課題はコメントを付して返却し、不十分な場合は再提出を指示します。個別の質問に関してはオフィスアワーも活用してください。

刻々と変化する国際情勢を知る上では、ウェブサイトの情報はとても有効です。けれども、ウェブサイトに頼りすぎてはいけません。自らの議論を展開するためには、信頼性の高いデータを入手したり、複数の客観的な論考を読んだりすることが必要です。図書館には多くの参考図書が所蔵されていますし、図書館を通して様々なデータや論稿を入手する方法を修得してください。
