授業の目的（意義） / Importance of this course
セミナーの目的は、自由競争市場における企業間競争が社会的な豊かさをもたらすためには市場にどのようなルールが必要であるかを研究し、卒業論文として成果を出すことです。企業はライバルとの厳しい競争に直面すると、利潤最大化のために３つのことを考えます。一つは、競争に生き残るために自らの能力を向上させることです。次は、競争相手と共謀して競争を回避する。最後は,競争相手を市場から駆逐することです。この３つの選択肢の各々にどのようなルールを設けたら企業の利潤最大化行動が、現在および将来の消費者の利益の増進につながるのかという問題は常に新しい課題をもつ研究分野なのです。 セミナー１では市場競争の考え方の基礎を学ぶために、まずミクロ経済学の入門書を輪読します。輪読を通して理解して欲しいメッセージとは、個々の企業の競争が社会的な富の増進をもたらすためには、いくつかの条件が整っていなければならないと言うことです。それを理解するために、具体的な状況を考察して、何が足りないのか、どうすれば良いのかをお互いに討論していきます。

allocation of valuable resources. Most importantly, you will recognize that fair and free competition is a key element for the effective market. In the seminar 1, you will read the basic textbook to learn these basic result of microeconomics.
