授業の概要 Course Overview

Misson Statementとの関係性 / Connection to our Mission Statement

In line with NUCB's mission statement, this English language course aims to educate and inspire students to become innovative and ethical leaders through the medium of English. In doing so, it is hoped that they will embrace the ideal of a "Frontier Spirit" and develop the ability to create knowledge in English for the advancement of business and society.

授業の目的(意義) / Importance of this course

*This is a SAC compulsory course → The November TOEIC is required to receive course credit.

This advanced English language course provides students with complex reading and listening activities that build upon the foundational English learned in previous terms. The productive and receptive tasks will feature material at the CEFR B2 & C1 levels and within the TOEIC® 700 score range.

This course places a special focus on grammar and vocabulary relevant to the TOEIC® exam, learned through reading, writing, listening, speaking, and communication tasks. These tasks reinforce previously covered materials from the current and past academic terms while increasing the complexity of both content and student expectations.

Throughout the course, assignments and tasks will be conducted individually, in pairs, and in groups, supplemented by homework and independent study for active learning. Additionally, students must complete 20 hours of self-directed learning in the SAC with support from SAC staff and volunteers.

到達目標 / Achievement Goal

Students will strengthen their four English language skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) beyond the levels achieved in the 500 and 600 core courses. They will develop the necessary language competencies to pursue their graduation and post-graduation goals, including job searching, job applications, and/or further academic study.
