授業の概要 Course Overview
Misson Statementとの関係性 / Connection to our Mission Statement
This course aligns with NUCB Business School's mission of educating innovative and ethical leaders with "Frontier Spirits" by facilitating students to write a business case with insight note demonstrating their competence in critical thinking, diversity awareness, ethical decision making, effective communication and innovative leadership and global perspective.
授業の目的(意義) / Importance of this course
All NUCB Business School students in the Global Leader Program are required to submit a business case with insight note, which is a part of the requirement to acquire the degree. The goal of this Case Writing course is to help them successfully satisfy this requirement. The case study should reflect any chosen organization's perspective as well as their own, showing the challenges/issues/opportunities faced by decision-maker(s) (also known as the case protagonist) while laying out a factual story about the situation. Insight note will include the case synopsis, its learning objectives, as well as the case questions, and most importantly, the framework and strategic solutions to these questions through the student's unique perspective while being based on the underlying theory. Ultimately, the insight note should be able to serve as a teaching note if this case was to be used as a teaching material by an instructor in a class.
Seminar instructor will play the role of Case Advisor, whose main responsibility is to teach students on how to develop a full original case accompanied with an insight note. Throughout the seminars and upon submission, the Case Advisor will give feedback as to what kind of improvements can be carried out and will be also part of the panel for both midterm and final presentations. While the Case Advisor would remain the primary seminar instructor, all students will be required to participate actively by giving secondary advice to other classmates based on their own expertise and background.
