授業の目的(意義) / Importance of this course

Elementary Japanese Ⅱは、ひらがな、カタカナの読み書きができ、日本語について基礎的な知識がある学生対象のコースである。
このコースでは、様々な学生間交流の学習活動を通して、基礎文法や会話スキルをさらに高め、日本で実践的に行うためのものである。また、簡単な漢字も学ぶ。
This Elementary Japanese Ⅱ course is designed for the beginning students who can read and write Hiragana and Katakana and have some knowledge of basic Japanese grammar. The course will build on basic Japanese grammar and conversational skills by using interactive activities so that students can better navigate in Japan. Some Kanji(Chinese characters) will be briefly introduced.

In detail:
Lecture 30%
Role-play, Interview, Pair-work, Presentation 70%

This course is taught by the method of interactive activity such as working in pairs, role playing and interviewing, thus grammar and expressions can be used practically.

At least two hours of preparation is required for each class.

Assignments will be returned with written comments.
The Quiz is required in each class.
The Final examination is required in the last day of the course.

担当教員のプロフィール About the Instructor 


After graduating with BA in Education from the University, Ms Yamamoto taught Japanese language and culture at the University of British Columbia Bilingual Summer School, Kelowna Secondary School and Vernon Secondary School as a T.A. After her return, she taught Japanese to foreign students at Chubu University as an instructor. From 2004 to 2006 she majored in International Communication at the Graduate School of International Development, Nagoya University. She has conducted research into Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language and Intercultual Communications in Japan.

Since she finished M.A, she has taught Japanese to foreign students from all over the world at NUCB Graduate School and Nanzan University.
