Course Approach: The ERS Project is centered on engaging with Multinational Corporations (MNCs) based in Aichi Prefecture to gain insights into their approaches toward ethics, responsibility, and sustainability.

Readings (cases or discussion material) will be assigned and provided in advance for specific sessions. The focus is on student responsibility for learning through actively applying course content, engaging with stakeholders, and collaborating in teams for the final report. Active class participation and preparation are mandatory for this course.

Outcomes: Developing Short Case Studies with Multimedia Content

Objective & Learning Outcome: The primary goal of the final project is to guide students in developing short case studies with multimedia content (such as videos) that concentrate on topics related to ethics, responsibility, and sustainability within the corporate framework of respective stakeholders. This hands-on activity ensures students gain experience in case writing, fieldwork, stakeholder interaction, and multimedia creation. This initiative provides a holistic learning experience, nurturing skills in research, data collection, stakeholder engagement, multimedia creation, and case writing. It not only prepares them for the immediate task at hand but also equips them with valuable skills for their final case writing seminar.

Group Formation:
Students will be organized into small groups, with each group comprising 3 to 4 members.

Case Development Task:
Each group will be assigned an ERS-related topic, encompassing areas such as environmental conservation, social responsibility, or ethical considerations in selected industries.

Case Structure and Focus:
The case, approximately 4 to 5 pages excluding figures and references, should follow a narrative structure progressing from descriptive to explanatory or exploratory. The primary emphasis should be on the ERS-related topic assigned to the group, focusing on a real scenario or problem that necessitates thoughtful analysis and resolution.

Multimedia Content:
In addition to the written case, students are required to create a multimedia segment (1 or 2 videos, 5-7 minutes combined) that enhances the understanding of the case. This can include interviews, visual data representations, animations, or any multimedia form enriching the case presentation.

Fieldwork and Stakeholder Interaction:
To ensure case authenticity, each group will engage with stakeholders related to their ERS topic. This interaction involves interviews, surveys, on-site observations, or any suitable method for gathering relevant data during dedicated fieldwork.

Students are expected to collect substantial data during fieldwork, including firsthand accounts, statistical information, quotes, images, or other relevant materials that enrich case content.

Case Completion and Presentation:
Post-fieldwork, students will use the collected data to finalize their case and multimedia segment, incorporating insights and sustainability solutions. Groups will present both the written case and multimedia segment to peers, instructors, and stakeholders.

Publication:
Developed cases will not be confined to the classroom; they will be published through relevant avenues, such as academic journals or case publishers, contributing to the broader discourse on sustainability and case studies.

Authorship and Evaluation:
All group members are considered authors of the case and its teaching note. Evaluation is based on the quality of the written case, the effectiveness of the multimedia segment, depth of stakeholder interaction, and overall presentation.

Submission Method:
All required reports must be submitted using "Google Classroom" before the deadline. Late submissions automatically incur penalties.

Final Exam:
There is no final exam in this course.

Use of Electronic Devices:
The use of electronic equipment for purposes unrelated to course learning is strictly prohibited during class, including phones, tablets, smartwatches, and other communication devices.
